Marikina was 3 hours from home with traffic. Good thing in my route from Cubao to Marikinam there was light to no traffic at all. The last route which would expectantly take 1 hour took only 30 minutes.
The Incubator
I couldn't find a better word to describe the overall temperature within the I.T. Log PC Shop. There more than 50 players cramped up in the shop that even the air-conditioning system gave up in providing enough cool air. The shop owners decided to just leave the aircons and the wall fans turned on while they opened the door for fresh air with a bonus of Nobody-political-jingles outside. Good thing the bottled water was free for all the players who attended.
The Regionals
The venue wasn't the only thing heating up in I.T. Log. More than 16 Grand Chase teams registered, all of them vying for the title: Marikina EB Regional Champs. Some of the participating guilds included: Synaptix, Mastermind Smile Definitions, Rising Patatas and Equinox. I saw the GM Team handling the event while keeping the crowd going with impromptu spiels and questions for the players. There's nothing better than having a sportsman's handshake after the end of each match. In the end, the Marikina EB Regional Champs was Team Mastermind 69 composed of onats, Pompi and Togashii. Congratulations!
GC Awards 2009
But the people to congratulate doesn't stop there, recognition for those who won the recently concluded Grand Chase Awards 2009 were given. The awardees are as follows:

Games and Raffles
But wait, there's more! While waiting for the Regionals to move on, 2 games were prepared: Jack en Poy and the Longest Meteor. Prizes included a GC ID Lace and 100php Top Up card (O yay I got one!) for the Jack en Poy while CMIIW a 350php top up card for the Longest Meteor.
The Jack en Poy had two rounds since only one player, Linali, managed to get to the finals. At the second round, four more lucky players got the Lace and the top up card.
The Longest Meteor had a number of contenders but only one could win (Marvinsky) who even beat a girl (Solera) for a fraction of milliseconds!
For the raffle, one of the most notable winners was Bapster who won twice in the Cash Set Armor of Choice (Lucky Lucky!) Another are Nauko and Itoshiki who even had a folder for their raffle tickets (They bought as I remember Php 1200 worth?) they won 6 out of the prizes. But the most epic win I'd have to say was Burai's. With a capital of Php 1000 worth of load, he won the last two prizes: The Php500 top up card and the GC Hoodie Jacket! Other side events included Php50 top up cards beneath the tables, and those whose posters are with the GM Team's signatures also got prizes.
It was a BLAST!
Before the EB ended, GM Mac announced the next few patches which would be implemented: Amy's 3rd Job, the Siren and a Purchasing Rewards event with Pet Saku as the Grand Prize. Do want!!!
The EB ended off at around 8:30 pm. Thanks nga pala to GM Cassiel for having a videoke number with me (The classic, Bakit Ngayon Ka Lang) right before we left the EB.
